Step 2. Drilling & squaring the pen blank

Once the wood has been selected, our craftsman bore a hole through the center of the blank. This hole receives the brass barrel of the pen. The brass barrel is installed in the hole. This barrel gives the pen strength during the turning process and through out its lifetime. The pen blank is also squared to ensure that the metal parts seat properly with the wood barrel.
