2002 ASP Tamper Contest

Welcome to the ASP Tamper Contest Page! If you have been following the thread on ASP, then you know there has been a lot of excitement about the tamper contest being held. Here's the deal.

The Pipe Rack, Custom Tampers, and Ming Kahuna

Purchase a tamper kit from this web site for $20.00 which includes shipping via USPS Priority Mail in the US and Canada. Overseas orders need to contact us first to obtain additional shipping cost. We will take orders until October 12th. All orders will be shipped after October 12th. There will be a limit of two kits per person. Once you have finished your tamper, send pictures to us and we will post them on this page until December 31, 2002.

On December 1, 2002 we will begin taking votes from ASPers for the best tamper. The winner will get:

• A $25.00 gift certificate to The Pipe Rack courtesy of Mike at The Pipe Rack
• Their money for the kit ($20.00) refunded
• A $25.00 discount off of a Ming Kahuna tamper courtesy of Buzz.
• Bragging rights on ASP
• A cool, hand-made tamper that you made yourself!

Carving can be done using any means you desire with one exception: you can't have someone else do it for you ;-). The material can be turned with care and sands very well. It has a relatively high melting point so it does not tend to melt when sanded with a belt-sander.

For the contest we prefer four photographs (in jpg format), one from each side. We want people (voters) to get a good look at the shape from each side. We'll post some voting guidelines later.
